Welcome vanweb.co.uk - your home for all things van-related across the green and pleasant lands of the United Kingdom! Allow us to introduce you to our trio of van connoisseurs - the driving force behind our website. Each member of our team is fuelled by a boundless passion for vans and is dedicated to providing our readership with the highest quality information and advice. We are:

Barry "Baz" Morris (No, he's no relation of William's!)

Barry - or as we fondly call him, Baz - is our resident Van Guru. He first discovered his love for vans at the tender age of six when he was gifted a toy WW2 Bedford MWD truck for Christmas. This modest gift sparked a lifelong passion that turned him into the van maverick we know and love today. Baz claims to hold an astounding record of personally driving over 1,000 different van models across the UK, Europe, and even as far as the open roads of America, and who am I to doubt the word of someone much bigger than me?

Baz's favourite van? The classic VW Transporter T3 for it's nostalgic charm and versatility.

Samantha "Sammy" Greaves

Known to all and sundry as Sammy, she's our go-to guide for Van Customisation. As a child, she would tinker away in her father's workshop, a fine mechanic, where she learned the gentle art of vehicular modification. Sammy graduated from the London College of Fashion, majoring in Design, before deciding to merge her twin passions for fashion and mechanics. She's now a freelance consultant who has overseen the transformation of hundreds of vans into beautifully bespoke homes-on-wheels, efficient commercial vehicles, and everything in-between. Sammy's fondness is for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, praising it's adaptability and roominess.

Nigel "Nige" Faraday

Nige is our Van Historian, a veritable treasure trove of knowledge about the evolution of vans in the UK. His fascination began with his grandfather's tales about driving an early Bedford CA in post-war Britain. Nige went on to study History at the University of Cambridge and penned a seminal dissertation on the socio-economic impact of vans on post-industrial Britain. To him, every van has a story, and he finds the Ford Transit Mk1 (we are all Transit fans) particularly interesting for it's role in revolutionising the British commercial vehicle industry.

Me, Phillip Green

I'm head of Content and resident Van Sage (the proud title I have given myself) I am a retired mechanic with over 20 years of working on just about every type of van known in Britain. Born and bred in York, I developed a van fascination after inheriting my father's old Ford Transit. My knowledge of vans, I can modestly claim, is legendary; from the hum of an engine, I can tell if it's a Citroen or a Mercedes, and I can spot a VW Transporter from two miles away.

I'm not just about historical trivia or van recognition. I'm about the stories, the personalities behind the wheel, and the adventures our vans enable so I'm just as eager to learn about the indie band's tour van as the carpenter's mobile workshop. If you've got a van story, I want to hear it!

United in our love for vans, Baz, Sammy, Nige and I continue to steer vanweb.co.uk on a journey through the fascinating world of vans. We take pride in offering you an unmatched depth of knowledge, experience, and most importantly - a shared enthusiasm for vans. Whether you're a seasoned van lover or just getting started, we're thrilled to have you along for the ride!
